Professor Faux has practiced law as a Federal Education Attorney in Washington, D.C. and as a civil litigator and Public Defender in Sonoma County, the latter for over 20 years. He was a lecturer in the Administration of Justice program at the University of Hawaii-Maui College. As a lecturer at Sonoma State University, he has taught Mental Health and the Law, Rights of the Accused, and Civil Liberties and the Constitution. His particular interests are criminal and constitutional law, particularly as to procedure and defendants’ rights, political science, history and international relations. He has published two in-house manuals for the Sonoma County Public Defender’s Office on mental health issues and alternative treatment programs.
